Blow Molding Manufacturing Services

Blow molding is a manufacturing process in which a molten thermoplastic tube (parison or preform) is formed, enclosed within a mold, and inflated using compressed air to take the shape of the cavity. Once cooled, the part is ejected as a finished hollow product.

We support multiple blow molding processes, including:

  • Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM): used to produce hollow plastic parts by extruding a molten plastic tube (parison), enclosing it in a mold, and inflating it with air to form products such as bottles, tanks, ducts, reservoirs, and other custom hollow components
  • Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM): used to produce high-clarity, lightweight plastic containers by injection molding a preform, reheating it, and stretching and blowing it into a mold to create strong, precise hollow products such as beverage bottles, medical containers, and packaging components
  • Injection Blow Molding (IBM): used to produce precise hollow plastic parts by injection molding a preform onto a core rod and then blowing it into a mold cavity, creating high-accuracy containers such as medical bottles, pharmaceutical containers, and small packaging products.

Key Materials for Blow Molding

  • Polyethylene (PE – HDPE/LDPE): Ideal for flexible, high-wear applications, such as caps, containers, and household items.
  • Polypropylene (PP): A lightweight, cost-effective, and chemically resistant material often used in packaging and consumer products.
  • Polyethylene terephthalate (PET): A strong durable, lightweight, recyclable polyester plastic often used for packaging food, beverages, and consumer products.
  • Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (RPET): A durable, lightweight, and eco-friendly alternative. Since it is sustainable plastic material that is formed by recycled, cleaned, and reprocessed PET plastics.
  • Polycarbonate (PC): Used when high impact strength, transparency, and superior insulation properties are required.
  • Copolyester (Tritan): A high performance copolyester that is BPA free material making it a safer option for consumer goods. Designed for extreme durability and clarity for bottles, containers, etc.
  • Nylon (PA6, PA66, PA12): High tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and good chemical resistance; suitable for blow molded specialty components requiring improved mechanical performance and durability.
  • K-Resin (SBC – Styrene Butadiene Copolymer): Clear, rigid, excellent transparency, impact resistance, and processability; commonly used for consumer packaging, cosmetic containers, and display-grade blow molded products requiring high clarity and stiffness.

Common Blow Molding Applications
